Sixteen grams is the number that sells the Fi Mini. That is about a third of the Fi Series 3+ tracker, and light enough that Fi sells it for cats as well as dogs, the first tracker the company has made for both. It clips onto a collar or harness you already own rather than replacing it.
The Mini sits under the Series 3+ in Fi's range and competes most directly with the Tractive DOG 6 and Tractive's cat trackers. On September 25, 2026 its one-month-membership listing sat at position 19 in Amazon's US best-seller list for pet location trackers, and Chewy and Costco both carry it.
Nobody at this site fitted one to a pet, so what follows comes from Fi's product pages and help center, the launch coverage, and one published account of a cat wearing it.
For a small dog or an outdoor cat whose owner wants live location and escape alerts without a bulky collar, it is a sensible choice. It is a poor fit for anyone who wants to own a tracker outright, because without a membership the Mini does nothing.
