PETLIBRO Granary Smart Camera Feeder Dual Bowl Specs

The Dual Bowl edition of PETLIBRO's Granary Smart Camera Feeder is not a two-hopper machine. It is the same single-hopper PLAF203 feeder as the standard camera Granary, shipped with a wider tray, two stainless bowls and a movable splitter in the chute. Every scheduled meal is one dispense that gets divided at the outlet, so the two bowls always eat from the same plan and roughly the same portion, with the splitter tilting the balance one way if a cat needs more.

That matters for who it suits. Two cats on the same diet who need to stop crowding one bowl are the target. A household with one cat on a prescription food and one on maintenance kibble is not, because nothing here can tell the two pets apart or feed them different things. PETLIBRO's own newer Granary 2 Vision Duo adds pet recognition and per-bowl scales for exactly that gap, at a noticeably higher price.

What the camera version adds over the plain Wi-Fi Granary is a downward-facing 1080p camera with infrared night vision, a microphone and speaker for two-way talk, and motion and sound alerts pushed to the app. Clips can be saved to a microSD card or to PETLIBRO's paid cloud plan, while live view and alerts work without a subscription. The hopper holds five liters of dry kibble, the outlet is sealed against paws and shaking, and three D batteries keep the schedule running through an outage, though Wi-Fi and the camera go dark on battery power.

Limits to know before the table: it is dry-food only with a fairly narrow kibble size window, the bowls are hand-wash only, and the camera adds cost without adding any control over feeding fairness. If you do not care to watch meals, the non-camera Dual Bowl sibling does the same feeding job for less.

How this VS Score was computed

Score 57: each known spec is measured against the median of all smart feeders (10 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 36% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note

Think of this feeder as a pet camera that happens to split food two ways. The splitter is mechanical. Move it and the balance changes, but the feeder itself never knows which cat ate what, so the feeding log records what was dispensed, not what was consumed by whom. For two cats that get along and eat the same food, that is fine and the video is a nice way to confirm both showed up. For a bully-and-victim pair it does not solve anything, because the dominant cat can walk over to the second bowl once its own is empty.

The camera is what you pay extra for over the plain Dual Bowl Granary, so ask whether you will use it. Live view and motion alerts are free. Reviewing recorded meals needs either a microSD card you supply or PETLIBRO's subscription, and the card slot records events only, with no continuous stream. If you already run a pet camera in the room, the feeder camera is redundant.

Where it earns its place is reliability of the basics: the sealed outlet and lid keep kibble fresher than open-hopper designs, the low-food and blockage alerts arrive promptly, and the battery fallback means a power cut does not mean a missed breakfast, even though you lose the app until power returns. The stainless bowls lift out for washing.

I would choose it for a two-cat home where the owner travels and wants to see mealtimes. I would skip it for owners feeding different diets, who should look at the Granary 2 Vision Duo instead, and for anyone with a large-breed dog, since the portion size and kibble window are cat-scaled.

The bottom line

The PETLIBRO Granary Smart Camera Feeder Dual Bowl earns a VS Score of 57 on the 36% of specifications we could compare like for like — an indication, not a ranking.

Who it’s for
Two cats on the same food in a home where someone travels and wants to watch and talk to them at mealtimes, without buying a separate pet camera.
Who should look elsewhere
Multi-pet homes feeding different diets or fighting over food. The splitter divides one dispense mechanically and cannot tell one cat from the other.
The trade-off that matters
You pay extra for the camera but gain no control over feeding fairness. Recording needs a card or a subscription, and on battery power the camera and app go offline.
The main alternative
PETLIBRO Granary 2 Vision Duo: per-bowl scales and pet recognition solve the who-ate-what problem the camera Granary only lets you watch.
