PETKIT EverSweet Max 2 (UVC): Specs, Price, Pros & Cons
The PETKIT EverSweet Max 2 (UVC) is built around a simple promise: a fountain that keeps working when the power situation does not cooperate. Its wireless pump runs from a built-in battery that PETKIT rates at nearly three months of cordless use per charge in battery mode, so the fountain can sit anywhere in the home, and it keeps serving water through a power cut, which is exactly the moment a plug-in fountain quietly stops. A motion sensor wakes the flow when a pet approaches, which is how the battery stretches so far.
The UVC in the name is the second idea. A UV-C lamp built into the pump housing treats the water on a schedule, working alongside a multi-layer filter that catches hair and debris, and the drinking surface is a 304 stainless-steel tray on a BPA-free tank. Most of the parts (tank, tray, lid, filter holder and outlet) are dishwasher safe, which keeps the weekly clean low-effort. A sensor tracks drinking habits, and the app flags low water, a tired filter and a fading battery before any of them becomes the reason your cat stopped drinking.
The one design decision to understand before buying is that the app connects over Bluetooth only. Everything works (tracking, reminders, mode changes), but only when your phone is in range, so this is not a fountain you check from the office. PETKIT positions the Max 2 for both cats and dogs, and its compact footprint and near-silent pump make it easy to place. If remote monitoring matters, look up the range. For months of dependable, fresh-tasting water with almost no thought, few fountains make a stronger case.

How this VS Score was computed
Score 77: each known spec is measured against the median of all water fountains (8 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 63% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note
The Max 2 (UVC) is the most balanced fountain in PETKIT's line, and the balance shows in what it does not try to do. There is no camera and no Wi-Fi radio. The engineering budget went into the battery, the UVC pump and parts that survive a dishwasher. Those are the right priorities for the way fountains fail in real homes: slowly, through skipped cleanings, forgotten filters and a cord that dictated a bad location. A months-long charge cycle plus motion-activated flow deals with location. Scheduled UVC handles the water-quality drift between cleanings, and the dishwasher-safe tank and tray cut the cleaning friction.
The Bluetooth-only app is the one decision that will divide buyers. The tracking and the reminders are real, but they sync when your phone is near the fountain, not from across town. In practice that suits the product's philosophy (it is built to not need supervision), and anyone imagining a workday glance at their cat's hydration is describing the EverSweet Ultra. Unlike the filterless Ultra, the Max 2 keeps a conventional filter, so the recurring cost and the replacement habit remain part of ownership, though the app at least nags you about it.
The stainless drinking tray addresses the chin-acne concern that follows plastic bowls, and PETKIT rating it for dogs as well as cats fits the capacity and the sturdy, low-profile shape. If you want one fountain that quietly does its job on any floor of the house, survives a power cut, and asks for attention a handful of times per season, this is the one to shortlist first.

The bottom line
The PETKIT EverSweet Max 2 (UVC) earns a VS Score of 77, above the median of the 8 water fountains it is measured against (a score of 50 is level with that median).
- Who it’s for
- Owners who want a fountain that runs for months between charges, keeps working through a power cut, and cleans up in the dishwasher
- Who should look elsewhere
- Checking your pet's water from work: the app syncs over Bluetooth, so updates wait until you are home
- The trade-off that matters
- Cordless freedom means charging discipline: when the battery finally runs down, the flow stops with it
- The main alternative
- PETKIT EverSweet Ultra adds Wi-Fi, a camera and per-cat tracking if a mains-powered spot is available
