PETKIT EverSweet Ultra: Specs, Price, Pros & Cons
Most pet fountains work like a swimming pool: the same water goes around and around, and a filter tries to keep it acceptable. The PETKIT EverSweet Ultra breaks with that model entirely. Its OneWay Flow design keeps fresh water in the tank and sends whatever has been in the drinking tray off to a separate waste tank instead of recirculating it, and a UVC lamp treats the water on top of that. The result is a fountain with no replaceable filter at all (nothing to buy, nothing to forget), because the design removes the job the filter existed to do.
The other half of the Ultra is a monitoring station. An AI camera watches the drinking tray, recognizes which of your cats is drinking, and logs each visit in the app, so a multi-cat household finally gets per-cat hydration data, the early-warning signal vets most often wish owners had. It connects over both 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, offers continuous, intermittent and motion-activated flow, and can even let you speak to your pet through two-way audio. A transparent tank and an app reminder mean it will not run dry unannounced.
All of this makes the Ultra a large, mains-powered appliance. It needs a permanent spot near an outlet, its stainless-steel drinking tray sits on a body with more parts than a simple fountain, and the waste tank becomes a new chore of its own. PETKIT rates operation at a quiet hum, and the dishwasher-safe tray and strainer soften the cleaning load. For households with several cats, a picky drinker, or a health history worth watching, the Ultra is the most complete drinking station PETKIT makes. For a single easy-going cat it is probably more machine than the job requires.

How this VS Score was computed
Score 61: each known spec is measured against the median of all water fountains (8 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 72% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note
The Ultra asks you to accept a different mental model. Every conventional fountain is a compromise you learn to stop seeing: the water your cat drinks has already been through the tray, the pump and the filter many times. PETKIT's wastewater separation removes that compromise instead of managing it, and pairing it with UVC treatment means the hygiene story rests on design rather than on how recently you changed a filter. The absence of filter purchases is a quiet long-term saving, but the honest accounting adds back the waste tank: it fills, it needs emptying, and it is a part conventional fountains do not have.
The camera is the feature to be most deliberate about. Per-cat drinking data is one of the few early health signals a gadget can capture (changes in water intake precede many feline kidney and urinary problems), and multi-cat recognition makes the data meaningful in the households that need it most. But it is also a camera in your home, tied to an app and an account, pointed at floor level. If that trade sits badly with you, this is the wrong model, because the camera is most of what you are paying for over PETKIT's simpler fountains.
Practical notes from the spec sheet: it is mains-only, so placement is back to outlet geography (an odd regression for a fountain this ambitious), and it is a physically substantial unit that will not disappear into a corner. The stainless tray and dishwasher-safe small parts keep cleaning reasonable. Buy it for a multi-cat home or a cat with a history worth monitoring. Skip it if what you need is clean moving water, which PETKIT and others supply with far less apparatus.

The bottom line
The PETKIT EverSweet Ultra earns a VS Score of 61, above the median of the 8 water fountains it is measured against (a score of 50 is level with that median).
- Who it’s for
- Multi-cat households that want per-cat drinking data and always-fresh rather than recirculated water
- Who should look elsewhere
- Small spaces, outlet-free corners, or anyone uneasy about a camera and an account attached to a water bowl
- The trade-off that matters
- The filterless wastewater design ends filter purchases but adds a waste tank to empty and more parts than any simple fountain
- The main alternative
- PETKIT EverSweet Max 2 (UVC) offers the hygiene ideas without the camera, in a smaller cordless package
