PETKIT EverSweet Solo 2: Specs, Price, Pros & Cons
The EverSweet Solo 2 is the cheapest fountain in PetKit's range that talks to a phone, and its one distinctive design choice is the strip of frosted window down the front. Here you can read the water level from across the room. On most of its stablemates, including the stainless 3 Pro, you cannot. That window is only possible because the tank is plastic, which is also why this is the affordable one.
Under the lid it borrows the good ideas from the dearer models. The pump has no cable and is powered by induction from the base, so the tank lifts straight off to the sink. Filtration is the same Filter 3.0 cartridge the rest of the range uses. The app connects over Bluetooth and mostly earns its place with reminders: change the filter, add water, clean the pump. You can also switch between an intermittent mode, a continuous one and a scheduled quiet period.
What it leaves out is mostly deliberate. There is no UV sterilization, though PetKit sells its UVC pump separately as an upgrade. There is no Wi-Fi, so control from outside Bluetooth range depends on another PetKit device acting as a bridge. The power adapter is not included, nothing is rated dishwasher safe, and PetKit specifies it for cats and small-breed dogs, not larger animals.
With a 2 L tank it holds more than the 3 Pro despite costing less, which tells you where the money went. This is the fountain for a first-time buyer with one or two cats who wants reminders on a phone but does not yet know whether steel or UV matter to them. If you already know they do, start one model up.

How this VS Score was computed
Score 31: each known spec is measured against the median of all water fountains (8 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 69% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note
Plastic against steel is the decision this fountain forces, and I think it matters less than the fountain industry implies. PetKit's own case for the stainless tank on the 3 Pro is hygiene and chin acne in cats prone to it. For a cat with no such history, a BPA-free ABS tank that gets washed weekly is fine, and the window you gain is something you will use every day. Where plastic does lose is scratching over years of scrubbing, which gives biofilm somewhere to hide, so this is a fountain to clean gently.
PetKit expects the full tank to keep one or two cats going for eight to ten days, and the filter to last four weeks. Both figures are the company's, and how quickly the tank empties depends on your cats and how often the pump runs. The app helps here in a low-key way, logging when you last topped up and when the next clean is due.
The upgrade path is unusual and worth knowing about. The UVC pump from the 3 Pro drops into this fountain, so you can start plain and add sterilization later for less than the price difference between the two models. That makes the Solo 2 an easy first buy.
What would stop me is wanting to manage the fountain from elsewhere. Bluetooth only means the reminders arrive when you are home, and remote control needs a second PetKit product within range. If you travel and want to see that the fountain is running, this is not the model. The Solo SE below it drops the app entirely for less money, the smarter saving if you never intend to look at the app. For everyone in between, the Solo 2 is the sensible default in this range.

The bottom line
The PETKIT EverSweet Solo 2 earns a VS Score of 31, below the median of the 8 water fountains it is measured against (a score of 50 is level with that median).
- Who it’s for
- A first-time fountain buyer with one or two cats who wants filter and refill reminders on a phone without paying for steel or UV.
- Who should look elsewhere
- Owners who want to check on the fountain away from home, anyone set on a stainless bowl, and households with bigger dogs.
- The trade-off that matters
- The plastic tank is what keeps the price down and it is also why the level window exists at all. Choose steel and you lose the window and pay more.
- The main alternative
- PETKIT EverSweet 3 Pro (UVC): the same wireless-pump idea with a stainless tank and UV sterilization, for owners who rank hygiene above seeing the water level.
