UAHPET Upgrade Visible Stainless Steel Cat Water Specs
Most pet fountains hide the pump in the bowl. UAHPET clips this one to the rim instead, so only a short intake tube touches the water while the motor, the battery and the electronics stay dry above it. That single decision shapes the rest of the product: cleaning becomes rinsing a steel bowl rather than dismantling a submerged pump, and a mains cable stops being necessary at all.
The body is food-grade 304 stainless steel, wide and shallow, with a small window in the side so the water line is visible without lifting anything off. It holds two liters, and the pump runs from an internal rechargeable battery that UAHPET rates at up to 130 days between charges. Nothing here needs to sit near a socket, which in practice means the fountain can go wherever the cat drinks.
The trade-offs are just as clear. This is a deliberately unconnected product: no app, no drinking log, no notification when the water gets low or the filter is due. The window and your own eyes are the monitoring system. Filters are a consumable UAHPET expects you to change often, sponges included, so the real cost of ownership is not the number on the box.
There is no UV sterilization either, which some rivals now advertise heavily. UAHPET's answer is a multi-layer mechanical and carbon cartridge plus a bowl and tray that can go in the dishwasher, which is a defensible position, but it is worth knowing which approach you are buying.
It suits a household with one or two cats that wants a fountain to be a bowl with moving water and nothing more: quiet, wipeable, movable, and free of another app on the phone. Anyone who wants hydration tracking should look elsewhere from the start.

How this VS Score was computed
Score 48: each known spec is measured against the median of all water fountains (8 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 69% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note
The external pump is the part I would pay for. Submerged pumps are where fountain smell comes from: they trap slime inside a housing that is hard to take fully apart, and they are the usual reason a fountain that worked for six months quietly stops being used by the cat. Lifting the pump out of the water does not make this thing self-cleaning, but it does remove the hardest component to clean from the water entirely.
UAHPET rates the running noise below 30 dB, and the design that achieves it (water guided down the inner wall of the bowl) is also why there is no visible splashing stream. Some cats want that stream and will ignore a bowl that merely ripples. Check your cat's habit before the purchase, because it is not something you can adjust later.
Filtration is a six-layer cartridge: KDF, ion-exchange resin, quartz sand, coconut carbon, cotton and shell. That is a serious stack for a fountain at this level, but UAHPET recommends replacing it every three to four weeks, which is more often than most rivals ask and adds up across a year. Buy the multi-packs.
Two things would make me hesitate. The drinking tray holds 320 ml at the surface, so in a two-cat house the visible water drops quickly even while the reservoir below is still full, and the wide shallow shape that keeps whiskers happy is also easy to nudge across a tiled floor. And UAHPET advertises no low-water or low-battery alert of any kind. The side window is the only indicator, and it only helps if somebody is home to look at it.
Against the PETLIBRO Dockstream, another cordless fountain, you are trading a slightly larger reservoir and a mostly plastic body for a steel one and a pump that never gets wet. I would take the steel and the dry pump.

The bottom line
The UAHPET Upgrade Visible Stainless Steel Cat Water Fountain Pro earns a VS Score of 48, below the median of the 8 water fountains it is measured against (a score of 50 is level with that median).
- Who it’s for
- A one- or two-cat home that wants moving water without a cable running across the floor, and cares more about a bowl that cleans easily than about features that live on a phone.
- Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone who wants to know how much their cat is drinking, or to be told remotely when the water has run out. There is no app, no logging and no alerting here at all.
- The trade-off that matters
- The dry, rim-mounted pump is what keeps this clean and cordless, and it is also why the water only ripples instead of falling in a visible stream. A cat that drinks from a moving stream may refuse it.
- The main alternative
- PETLIBRO Dockstream, another cordless fountain: a larger reservoir, but a mostly plastic body and a pump that sits down in the water.
