PETKIT EverSweet Solo SE: Specs, Price, Pros & Cons
The EverSweet Solo SE is PETKIT's entry-level fountain, and the SE suffix means stripped rather than special: plug it in and it runs continuously, with no flow modes, no app and no drinking data. What survives from the pricier EverSweet models is the part that matters mechanically: the induction-powered wireless pump that sits in the water with no cable running through the tank, so cleaning means lifting parts out, with no cords to untangle.
The tank holds 1.8 liters, which PetKit rates as roughly a week to ten days for one or two cats. Water rises through a multi-layer filter cartridge and bubbles up from a small opening at the top with no falling stream, a design PetKit chose partly to keep noise down and partly because cats tend to approach a gentle upwelling more readily than a splash. The pump shuts off automatically when the water runs low, and a flashing indicator on the base is the only alert you get.
It is built for cats and small dogs and for owners who want the fountain to disappear into a corner. The body is BPA-free ABS, the base separates from the tank so refilling does not involve carrying electronics to the sink, and the whole thing is small enough for a bathroom shelf or a studio flat.
What it gives up is everything the app-connected EverSweets are sold on: no intermittent or motion modes to save filters and power, no reminders for filter changes beyond your own calendar, no hydration tracking, and no dishwasher-safe parts. PetKit says all of it is hand-wash. The Solo 2 above it adds adjustable modes and Bluetooth reminders for a little more money. The SE is for buyers who would not use them and see no reason to pay for them.

How this VS Score was computed
Score 20: each known spec is measured against the median of all water fountains (8 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 69% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note
A fountain this simple lives or dies on two things: whether the cat will use it, and whether the owner will keep it clean. The Solo SE does well on the first. The bubbling outlet is quieter and less startling than a waterfall design, the low body suits kittens and older cats, and there is no cable in the bowl to nose at. On the second it does less: the parts come apart easily and the wireless pump is a real convenience over cabled pumps, but with no app there is nothing to nag you when the filter is a month old, and the filter is the whole hygiene system here.
The comparison that matters is with PetKit's own Solo 2. For a modest step up you get intermittent and smart modes that stretch filter life and lower running noise further, a visible water level, and Bluetooth reminders. Owners who check the fountain daily anyway can take the SE's savings as pure gain. If you are buying a fountain because you forget to refill a bowl, the Solo 2's reminders are worth having, and the SE's flashing light will only tell you once the tank is already empty.
Capacity is the other consideration. For one cat this is generous. Two cats sharing it means refilling twice a week, and for a dog of any size I would look at the larger EverSweets or a PETLIBRO stainless model. The plastic tank is fine at this price but will show scratches and film sooner than steel, and hand-washing is non-negotiable.
I would recommend it as a first fountain for a single cat, as a second fountain in a bedroom or upstairs bathroom, or for anyone who wants moving water without an account. I would not recommend it as the only water source in a multi-cat home.

The bottom line
The PETKIT EverSweet Solo SE earns a VS Score of 20, below the median of the 8 water fountains it is measured against (a score of 50 is level with that median).
- Who it’s for
- A first fountain for one cat, or a quiet second water station in a bedroom or upstairs bathroom, bought by someone who will clean it on a calendar rather than on a notification.
- Who should look elsewhere
- Multi-cat homes relying on it as the only water source, or anyone who wants filter reminders, flow modes or hydration data. It has none of them.
- The trade-off that matters
- The lowest price in PetKit's range buys continuous flow only: the pump runs whenever it is plugged in, so filters and pump wear faster than on the models with intermittent modes.
- The main alternative
- PETKIT EverSweet Solo 2: a slightly larger tank, adjustable flow modes and Bluetooth reminders for a small step up, the better choice for owners who need the nudge.
