The EverSweet 3 Pro’s UV Lamp Runs Longer in Smart Mode

The PETKIT EverSweet 3 Pro hides a UV lamp inside a pump with no cable, and by PETKIT's schedules that lamp runs about twice as long in Smart mode as in Normal mode. The tank is stainless steel, and the pump lifts out in one piece for cleaning.

The obvious alternative is PETLIBRO's Dockstream 2, a cordless fountain with a battery, where the 3 Pro needs its USB cable plugged in at all times. The figures here come from PETKIT's product page and the 3 Pro's parameter page in PETKIT's help center, which disagree on how loud the pump is.

RecommendationConsider if you clean the fountain on a schedule and can do without alerts away from homeEvidence: maker figures, some of them conflicting · Specification score on the product page

A UV lamp inside a cable-free pump and a steel tank make the EverSweet 3 Pro a hygienic pick for a cat owner who already cleans on a schedule. The app works over Bluetooth only, so it won't report to you at work unless another PETKIT device is on Wi-Fi at home.

Strengths

  • UV lamp inside a cable-free pump
  • Steel tank
  • The pump shuts itself off when the water runs low, and a phone charger can power the whole fountain

Weaknesses

  • Bluetooth-only app, with remote alerts only through another PETKIT device
  • No battery, so the water stops when the cable comes out
  • A new filter every four weeks

How we reviewed it

Basis
Research-based: assessed from the manufacturer’s published specifications, documentation and the independent sources listed at the end. We have not tested this unit ourselves; any measurement quoted belongs to the cited source.
Method

PETKIT's product page gives the UV schedule in each mode, the capacity, the power supply, the app connection, the filter interval and the dishwasher answer. Its help-center parameter page for the 3 Pro adds the default Smart-mode cycle and a second noise figure. The daily lamp hours and the yearly filter count are our arithmetic on those figures. The section images are drawings from PETKIT's user manual for model P4108.

Evidence

PETKIT's product page for the EverSweet 3 Pro (UVC) and the 3 Pro's parameter page in PETKIT's help center.

Limitations

We have no independent measurement of how well the UV lamp disinfects, how loud the pump is or how long a filter lasts, so those points rest on PETKIT's figures. PETKIT's bacteria claim names no lab or test.

UV in the pump, and the mode that runs it longer

The 3 Pro's pump has no cable. It sits on a magnetic induction pad and carries its own UVC lamp, so the only powered part in the water is a sealed block that lifts out. PETKIT claims the lamp kills almost all bacteria, E. coli among them.

How long the lamp runs depends on the mode.

  • Normal mode keeps water flowing nonstop, with the lamp on for three hours after power-on and then for one hour in every four.
  • Smart mode pulses the water, three minutes on and three off at the default setting, and the lamp switches with the pump.

Once Normal mode is past its first three hours, that works out to about six lamp hours a day. Smart mode at its default gives about twelve. PETKIT doesn't say whether the longer total in Smart mode disinfects better than Normal mode's steady hour. Do Not Disturb stops the pump, and the lamp with it, during the hours you set.

The lamp sits inside the pump, so it treats the water that passes through. The tray, the outlet and the filter still need regular washing, which is where slime gathers in any fountain. Moving water is the reason most people buy one, though controlled studies on whether fountains raise intake found little change in healthy cats.

Bluetooth only, unless another PETKIT is home

The PETKIT app reaches the fountain over Bluetooth only, so out of range it can't see the fountain at all. In range it sets the mode, the Smart-mode timing, the Do Not Disturb window and the filter reminder. Remote control and alerts need another PETKIT product on Wi-Fi in the house to act as the main device.

Without the app, one light in the base shows the mode and flashes when the filter is due or the water runs short. On low water the pump stops by itself, and about 60 mL stays in the tray if the power goes off.

The fountain runs from a USB cable and has no battery, so it stops whenever it's unplugged. No power adapter comes in the box. PETKIT rates it at 2 W from a 5 V supply, which an old phone charger can provide.

Filters, washing and two noise figures

PETKIT suggests a new Filter 3.0 every four weeks, which comes to 13 filters a year. Every part comes apart, the pump included, and PETKIT says none of it is dishwasher safe. Hair collects in the pump's foam filter and around the impeller, so taking the pump apart belongs in each clean.

The tank is 304 stainless steel and the tray is plastic. PETKIT rates the usable 1.6 L at five to seven days of water for one or two cats. The box says 1.8 L, which PETKIT explains is the brim and not the working level.

The product page puts the sound of the water under 25 dB. The parameter page for this model in PETKIT's help center lists the wireless pump at 30 dB.

Final verdict

PETKIT EverSweet 3 Pro (UVC), model P4108, white
RecommendationConsider if you clean the fountain on a schedule and can do without alerts away from home

This review gives no score out of 10, because no section rests on a measurement by an independent body. The recommendation and the written verdict stand on their own.

Pros

  • UV lamp inside a cable-free pump
  • Steel tank
  • The pump shuts itself off when the water runs low, and a phone charger can power the whole fountain

Cons

  • Bluetooth-only app, with remote alerts only through another PETKIT device
  • No battery, so the water stops when the cable comes out
  • A new filter every four weeks
  • Hand washing only

Conclusion

On paper the 3 Pro is a well-thought-out plug-in fountain. The pump carries no cable into the water, the tank is steel, and the lamp adds a layer of treatment that PETKIT schedules differently in each mode. Its limits are about connection rather than hygiene: Bluetooth only, a cable that has to stay in, and remote alerts that depend on owning more PETKIT hardware.

Pick Smart mode if lamp hours are the reason you bought it, and keep the four-week filter change.

Our take

Six lamp hours a day in one mode and twelve in the other is the detail to know before buying, and PETKIT hides it across two pages. With that settled, it's a sound fountain for a kitchen corner within Bluetooth range.

Best for
  • Cat owners who wash a fountain every week anyway
  • Homes that already run a PETKIT feeder or litter box on Wi-Fi
Consider an alternative if
  • You want phone alerts away from home and own no other PETKIT device
  • You need the fountain far from an outlet
  • You want dishwasher-safe parts

Questions readers ask

Does the PETKIT EverSweet 3 Pro work without power?

No. It has no battery and needs its USB cable plugged in to pump water. About 60 mL stays in the tray if the power goes off.

Can the EverSweet 3 Pro send alerts when I'm away?

Only if another PETKIT product on Wi-Fi in the house acts as the main device. On its own it talks to the app over Bluetooth.

Which mode runs the UV lamp longest?

Smart mode at its default cycle, by PETKIT's schedules: about twelve hours a day, against about six in Normal mode after the first three hours.
